Welcome back to Meet the Mountain Mondays, where we at Pajarito highlight the people that make this place special. My name is Kes, this mountain’s trusty photographer, and it’s my pleasure to introduce you to Ellen and John.
If you can’t tell, these two newlyweds couldn’t be more in love. I first met them while working as a liftie for the ‘23 winter season. Though it’s easy to get lost in the sea of faces, I would always be able to pick out the season regulars. And these two definitely knew how to let loose on the slopes. I’ll never forget chatting with John and listening to how excited he was to finally marry Ellen.
“I’ve never done this before,” he said with a laugh, his face shining with a dash of bewilderment, “I’ve never been married before.” Even as I write this, I can’t help but smile at his excitement.
Flash forward to Pajarito’s Summer Solstice Festival, and I run into Ellen and John, newly married and all the happier for it. From a small wedding at Fuller Lodge to a honeymoon in the Utah desert, they once again found themselves here at this little mountain of ours.
As the guitar played in the background and the sun shone high in the sky, it was impossible to not enjoy the warm summer conversations.
I’m so happy I got the opportunity to know these two lovebirds. Thank you, John and Ellen, for the joy and happiness you bring to Pajarito.
