Winter Recap 2025

A Look Back at Winter — And a Look Ahead at Summer

What a season! From early powder days to spring laps under bluebird skies, Winter 2024–25 was one for the record books at Pajarito. Here’s a recap of the highlights, plus a peek at what’s coming up next.

❄️ Our Earliest Opening in Decades

November 9, 2024 was one for the books! With 41 inches of fresh powder and nearly all trails open, we kicked off the season earlier than we have in many decades. It was a bluebird beginning to a memorable winter.

🗓️ A Long, Fun-Filled Season

We logged 84 days of skiing and riding this winter — our third longest season ever! With a total of 73 inches of snowfall, our team worked hard day after day to keep the mountain in shape. Whether you made one trip or twenty, we’re glad you joined us.

⛷️ Welcoming New Skiers & Riders

Thanks to our affordable Beginner Package, we got to introduce many first-timers to the magic of Pajarito. The all-inclusive deal made it easy to learn, laugh, and fall in love with skiing — and we loved seeing new faces on the mountain.

💪 Team Spirit All Season Long

Mother Nature kept us on our toes this year, but our crew brought nothing but positive vibes and relentless determination. From lifties to snowmakers to cafe staff, every person gave it their all to make this a season to remember.

💥 Snowmaking

Our snowmakers and mountain team worked their tails off to keep things smooth — especially on the beginner terrain. It’s all about giving our guests, new and experienced alike, the best day possible, and we’re proud of what we pulled off.

💛 To Our Guests: Thank You

Whether you’re from Los Alamos, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, or beyond, you showed up and supported us. We’re incredibly grateful for your loyalty — for skiing with us, dining with us, shopping local, and spreading the word. You’re the heartbeat of this mountain.

Looking Ahead to Summer ☀️

🚧 Big News: The Pipeline Project

It’s happening! The Pipeline Project is officially underway. This major infrastructure upgrade includes fire suppression and — drumroll — expanded snowmaking. That means a longer, more consistent season ahead. (Heads up: the road to the mountain will be closed Monday–Thursday this summer while work is underway.)

🛠️ Lift Upgrades in Progress

Our maintenance crew will be hard at work getting the lifts ready for winter. Safety, reliability, and smooth rides — it’s all part of the plan to keep the good times rolling from the first chair to the final lap.

🚵‍♀️ Downhill MTB is Back!

Mountain biking returns June 7! Our lift-served trails are unlike anything else in the region — rugged, rowdy, and ridiculously fun. The trails team is already prepping for another epic summer. Lifts will run Saturdays & Sundays, 9 AM–4 PM.

☕ Summer at the Pajarito Cafe

We’re keeping the good food flowing all summer long! The Pajarito Mountain Cafe is open Friday–Sunday, with breakfast service on weekends and a couple of special events you won’t want to miss:

  • Mother’s Day Brunch – May 11
  • Father’s Day Cookout – June 15

Come grab a green chile cheeseburger and soak in the views.

Hours:
Friday: 11 AM – 3 PM
Saturday–Sunday: 9 AM – 3 PM

🧢 New Gear at The Bird’s Nest

More than just Pajarito swag, The Bird’s Nest has you covered for biking season — think jerseys, gear, and summer styles. Stop by Friday–Sunday to check out what’s new.

With Gratitude ❤️

From our crew to our community: thank you. Pajarito is more than a mountain — it’s a family. And whether you’re a first-time visitor or a longtime local, you belong here. We can’t wait to see you this summer and in winter!

Speaking of next season… don’t forget! The best prices on 2025–26 Power Passes end April 25. Whether you’re upgrading to Power Pass Select for more access or locking in another pass early, now’s the time to make it happen. There’s a pass for everyone — and a season full of turns waiting for you.

Stay tuned for updates — and we’ll see you on the trails!
